Pottery Of The Southwest Gallery on Canyon Road opened in 2017. It has been an exceptional experience and continues to be the best of times in my life.
Over ten years ago when Heidi introduced me to her father, John Blom, I had to ask her what was wrong with him. All I saw was pottery everywhere. I thought he was crazy. I actually bought him a piece of pottery at a local art show in Reno, Nevada. To John “It was a lesson to be learned”, and he let me know it know it in no uncertain terms.
Several years later Heidi and I caught John’s obsession. I learned the process of making the pieces to the history behind them. We were lucky enough to work with John Blom and Alan Hayes on their book “Southwestern Pottery – Anasazi to Zuni”, and help them discover new artists.
After five years of collecting and meeting some great artists who eventually became great friends, Heidi and I opened Pottery Of The Southwest Gallery on Canyon Road in 2017. It has been an exceptional experience and continues to be the best of times in my life.
